The royal baby watch is over! Prince William and his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, welcomed their first baby today. Despite rumors to the contrary, the couple officially welcomed their son today at 4:24 p.m. Mom and baby are doing well, according to statements, but the couple have yet to reveal the name of their new arrival. Guess we’re not quite done with the royal baby watch!

It looks like it will be a royal summer! A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge confirmed that the couple’s first baby will arrive in July. Kate’s hospitalization last month for extreme morning sickness prompted some royal watchers to wonder if she is carrying twins, but the statement indicates that Kate Middleton and Prince William are looking forward to only one royal arrival. While they haven’t shared whether they’re expecting a son or a daughter, proposed changes to the rules of succession mean that — boy or girl — baby will be a monarch!

After almost a year and a half of constant speculation and swirling rumors, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have officially confirmed the news that just about everyone has been waiting for: they’re expecting! The palace confirmed earlier today that Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are expecting their first. The statement went on to say that Middleton is still in the very early stages of her pregnancy and is, unfortunately, suffering from acute morning sickness. The Duchess was actually admitted to the King Edward VII Hospital for treatment and is expected to stay for a few days.
