Reality star Mike Sorrentino, more commonly known as “The Situation” from the Jersey Shore series, has announced the gender of his first child with his wife Lauren.

It’s a boy! The couple discovered the news using a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. When they turned the lights on, it was blue for a baby boy! What a cute way to incorporate the holiday into their gender reveal.

The couple announced in November that they were expecting their first child together. After their announcement, they also shared an Instagram account they created for their little one called “itsbabysituation.”

On the account, Lauren and Mike post sonogram pictures and document Lauren’s baby bump growth. The captions are written from baby’s point of view. The couple even shared the gender reveal on the account along with the caption, “IT’S OFFICIAL – I’M A BABY BOY! 💙🎉🙏🏼 My parents were waiting to see if they could host my first party for the reveal but because of the C word, they decided to be safe, most especially for me 👶🏼, and host it virtually! Please share all your baby boy advice & favorite places to shop for cute baby clothes as my Mama cannot wait to shop for me! Mama & Daddy are thrilled and Mama is about to start full-on nursery planning! See you guys next week.”

Mike and Lauren met in community college before Mike began filming for the Jersey Shore. They dated on-and-off for years before finally making things official on the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation reunion show where Mike proposed to Lauren. They tied the know in November 2018 at The Legacy Castle in Pompton Plains, New Jersey.

Congratulations to the Sorrentino’s on learning they will be having a boy! We’re wishing Lauren a healthy pregnancy as they prepared to welcome their son.
