Congratulations to The Mentalist actress Robin Tunney, who welcomed her first child two weeks ago. Robin took to Instagram to share the exciting baby news and the first pic of her sweet little one.
Along with the photo of the sleeping baby, she wrote: “My greatest work, Oscar Holly Marmet. Picture by my friend @shannonleeimages. Sorry I didn’t talk about being pregnant. Wanted to keep it all for myself. #momlife #bestbaby #soinlove.”
It’s such a rarity to see a celebrity stay so under the radar about her pregnancy. We love Robin’s reasoning though – you can’t argue with her need to keep it all on the down low.
Shannon Lee, who is credited with taking the pic, explained on her Instagram account that Oscar was born in late June.
As for that old-fashioned name, Oscar is of Irish origin and means “deer lover.”
Robin also posted a pic of her adorable family, captioning it: “First photo of the whole family. Rufus would have preferred we’d gotten another dog. #firstmonthofmotherhood #greatestbabyever.” Rufus does seem totally curious about baby Oscar!
Robin and interior designer Nicky Marmet got engaged in December 2012.
