Twenty-nine-year-old Danielle Brooks took to Instagram today to share some very exciting news. The Orange Is The New Black star is happily expecting her first child! Her elated expression in her announcement photo really says it all.

On her Instagram story, Danielle shared an adorable baby bump photo and revealed that she is 5 months along. It looks like Brooks will be welcoming a fall baby!

Danielle is most notably known for her role as Tasha “Taystee” Jefferson on the Netflix original series Orange Is the New Black. She also does quite a bit of work on Broadway. Currently, she is playing Beatrice in Shakespeare in the Park. In 2015, she received a Tony Award nomination for her portrayal of Sofia in that year’s Broadway production of The Color Purple.

Danielle has remained tight-lipped on her love life since reaching celebrity status. She does, however, post occasional images with her boyfriend, whose identity has not yet been shared. The couple does appear to be very happy! Danielle appears head-over-heels in love in every image of the two of them together. While Brooks did not publicly confirm the identity of the father of her baby, we can only assume the mystery man will be joining Danielle in parenthood.

The last time her mystery boyfriend appeared on her Instagram was this past Valentine’s Day. Given the timing, perhaps this romantic holiday marked just the beginning of the couple’s journey of love.

There’s no doubt that Danielle will make a fantastic mother, especially when you consider the beautiful letter she wrote to her teenage self in a 2017 essay for Refinery 29. This new mom will be sure to offer sage advice and comforting home for a brand new baby.
