Kensington Palace released two new photos of Princess Charlotte, taken by her mother Kate Middleton, also known as Her Royal Highness, Duchess of Cambridge. The photos were shared via Twitter with the caption, “The Duke and Duchess hope everyone enjoys these new photos of Princess Charlotte as much as they do.”
The little princess, whose full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, was born on May 2nd and weighed 8 lbs., 3 oz. Now six months old, the photos are the first time the public has gotten a glimpse of the princess since her christening in July.
Charlotte’s birth was greeted with worldwide fanfare and, perhaps not so coincidentally, the name Charlotte topped BabyNames.com list of Top Baby Names 2015. (To see the complete list of Top Baby Names 2015, click here.) The name Charlotte is of English origin, appropriately enough, and means “Free.”
Charlotte is fourth in line to the throne behind her parents and older brother, Prince George. This past July, Prince William told reporters, “It’s been obviously fantastic and she’s been a little joy of heaven. It’s more responsibility looking after two little ones, especially when George is around as he’s a little monkey.”
