Singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding has revealed that she is pregnant with her first child with her Casper Jopling.
The Love Me Like You Do singer shared a selection of photos to her Instagram page showing off her growing baby bump. Ellie shared the news exclusively with Vogue Magazine and revealed she is about 30 weeks along.
Ellie also shared that her pregnancy came as a surprise. She and Casper learned they were expecting around the time they were celebrating one year of marriage. “That was not the plan. The thought of getting pregnant didn’t seem like it could be a reality. Becoming pregnant kind of made me feel human. I want a better word than womanly. I have curves I’ve never had before. I’m enjoying it. My husband’s enjoying it.”
When it comes to learning the gender of her baby, Ellie shares that “it’s not a focus for me.” The couple did, however, learn the gender. “We found out by default because we had a scan. It wasn’t a thing. We just wanted a healthy baby and there wasn’t much more to it. Instinctively, the whole gender reveal is not my thing.”
Through all the changes going through her body and the uncertainty of being pregnant during a pandemic, Ellie shared that she’s excited about this new journey. “I’m excited to be a mother—but also I want to make sure that I continue to work. I can’t wait to go back on tour. I’ve been in the studio most days. I’m excited for the challenge. It will be a totally new experience.”
