Syd and Shea McGee, stars of the Netflix series Dream Home Makeover and designers for Studio McGee have announced that they are expecting their third child together!
The couple shared the announcement on their design studio’s Instagram page and revealed their third child is expected to arrive this July. Both Syd and Shea have their own Instagram accounts but have chosen to keep those private, sharing any public news on the Studio McGee Instagram page.
Syd and Shea share two daughters together, Wren, 7, and Ivy, 4. Both girls have names that reference something beautiful in nature. Perhaps baby number 3 will be given a nature-like moniker as well! Shea shared that the girls are “really, really excited.” She thinks the girls “are really going to take on the responsibility of being helpers.”
Shea shared the story about how she learned she was pregnant with People. “We were coming home from a trip and I wasn’t feeling well at all and I told Syd, ‘I just have this feeling. I don’t know why, but I feel like I might be pregnant.’ I made him stop at a convenience store on the way home from the airport to pick up a pregnancy test and then I found out that day.” She said the news came just about a week before Thanksgiving.
The couple met in the early 2000s and tied the knot in 2008. Shea and Syd got their start in design in 2013 after Shea decided to leave her job in communications and remodel their home. She took to Instagram to document the process and build up a loyal fanbase. The following year, she and Syd launched Studio McGee. Their brand has since expanded into retail.
