There’s a new boy band member in town!  Nick Carter and his wife Lauren has welcomed a son – Odin Reign Carter.  Lauren had a water birth at their home; baby Odin arrived after 30 hours of labor, weighing 8 lbs. 11 oz.

The couple intentionally kept the name of their baby boy under wraps throughout their pregnancy, but the singer did tell Entertainment Tonight that they had chosen “a very strong name.”  According to babynames.com, Odin originates from Scandinavia and means “Frenzy, Rage, Inspiration.”  In Norse mythology, Odin was the “highest (father) of all Norse gods, who presided over art, war, wisdom and death.”

Nick and Lauren enjoyed a co-ed Game of Thrones themed baby shower in March.  The dad-to-be gushed about his wife, saying: “She [will] help me teach our child all the things that he needs to learn…Without each other, the two of us would never have gotten to this point, so it feels amazing and it’s crazy how much more in love you can become when you start this phase of your life.”

It’s been a busy year for the Backstreet Boy member.  He placed second in last season’s Dancing with the Stars; released his “All American” album, toured, and premiered Dead 7; a film he wrote, directed, and starred in.  Up next – a 9-show trial run for a possible Backstreet Boys Las Vegas residency.
