Comedian Amy Schumer welcomed her first child, Gene Attell, in May of 2019. Not known for being elusive, Amy was very open about her pregnancy. She shared that she suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, a pregnancy condition that causes severe nausea.

Over the past week, Amy has been opening up about her journey with IVF. Amy and her husband, Chris Fischer, are freezing embryos in the hopes of giving their son a sibling one day. Amy posted a photo of her stomach following treatment that features bruises on her stomach from treatment. She asked for advice or personal experiences to help her recover. She was flooding with excellent responses from fans and others who have gone through IVF.

In true Amy fashion, she posted two videos to her Instagram page while she was undergoing treatment and on painkillers. As with anyone who is on painkillers, she had some interesting things to say while her husband videotaped her. IVF is certainly something that can be painful and emotional to deal with. It’s wonderful to see someone of Amy’s influence sharing her experience and opening up conversations about it. We wish the Fischer family success and good health on this journey.
