Ollie Swaddle Review

What is the Ollie Swaddle?

The Ollie Swaddle improves an infant’s quality and length of sleep. It’s made with custom developed moisture wicking material to reduce overheating, which is linked to SIDS. The convenient opening at the bottom is to allow easy access for diaper changes. The swaddle package includes 1 swaddle, 1 laundry Bag, and a cute box for storage.

At birth, we used muslin blankets (Aden + Anais and Little Unicorn) and the Halo SleepSack Swaddle. The muslin blankets work well at birth because they don’t squirm around as much. However, I found the Halo Swaddle to be too big for our 6 lb baby and had a lot of extra material, even in the newborn size.

We recently switched to The Ollie Swaddle, and it is amazing! It is now part of our regular nighttime routine. I am not the best at swaddling my newborn. As small as she is, she’s almost mighty and had managed to loosen her swaddle constantly until the Ollie came along. I have to say it only took me about a minute to wrap Penelope in the swaddle and she stayed swaddled. This blanket might be sparkled with magical sleep fairy dust because we all sleep like a baby.

Besides the user-friendly assembly, the material is perfect for our California summer weather, as it keeps them calm and cool! I don’t have to worry about baby overheating in her swaddle. I love the tie concept at the bottom– it makes for quick diaper changes without having to unswaddle them completely. Also, I noticed there is plenty of room for baby to grow with The Ollie.

As far as cons, I would have liked the velcro to be less rigid. I feel that the Velcro is a bit stiff and not flexible. However, it does not disturb baby’s skin… it’s simply more of an aesthetic issue for me.

Is it a baby miracle sleeper? I don’t think there is such a product… but it does makes nights much easier for both baby and parents.
