Lulyzoo Toddler Play Mat Lounge Review

LULYZOOpin

I was so excited to get my Lulyzoo Toddler Lounge in the mail. The packaging of the Lulyzoo is great. The product comes with instructions, and a pamphlet on baby/toddler/preschooler sleep requirements. I thought that was a nice touch. I was surprised by how light weight it is. And soft. It is so soft, and extremely well made.

It is a very high quality product. Of course, I had to try it out right away with my 13 month old daughter, Lavender. Lulyboo advertises the Lulyzoo as both a bed and play mat. We tried it out as a play mat first. The bottom of the lounge is waterproof, so I figured we’d give it a try outside. I’m always looking for ways to keep Lavender entertained while I quickly tend to the garden, so this was a perfect opportunity. Lavender was impressed! She thought the hippo head was hilarious.

It’s soft and crinkly, and she had fun hugging on it. She’s also a new walker, so she thought it was pretty cool that she could climb in and out of it on her own. However, this is not a product to be used if you’re hoping to keep a new walker contained for a bit. While she loved climbing in and out of it, she did not stay in it for long periods of time. She did climb in and out, and went back and forth from that to her other toys all evening. After we were done outside, the grass brushed right off, which was nice. Plus, it folds up into a backpack, making it easy to bring inside while carrying the baby.

Since then, I have left it out in whatever room we are hanging out in. She continuously goes in and out, and enjoys hanging out in it for short amounts of time throughout the day. The one thing I don’t think it would be great for is everyday sleep for a mobile baby. Lavender was so busy climbing in and out that I can’t imagine her staying put in it long enough to sleep at home. Every time I tried to lay her down in it, she popped right back up. I do think it would be perfect for sleeping while travelling, though. We travel often, and I think it will be great to have a familiar bed to sleep in. So while she might not sleep in it at home, I do think she would prefer to sleep in it while out of town over a hotel pack and play or crib.

I would recommend the Lulyzoo Toddler Lounge for younger babies or for people who travel a lot, if you want to get the most use out of it. If you’re only planning on using it at home as a play mat, I’m not sure if it is worth the cost for older babies and toddlers. For babies who travel a lot, definitely worth it!

The Lulyzoo Lounge comes in five different animals and is available for $69.99 on Amazon.
