There is a singer from Spain (born Pilar Giménez García) who goes by the name of Ailyn. She evidently is becoming famous all over Europe because a Norwegian gothic metal rock band called Sirenia has chosen her as their new female singer.
How does she pronounce Ailyn? Is it like the Irish Eileen (eye-LEEN), or is it more like EYE-lin, or is it something else?
Hispanics in the USA seem to mostly pronunce Ailin and Ailyn as Eileen, so I am checking to see if the same pronunciation is used in Spain. I'm hoping some of you from Europe will know. :)

When she was on the Spanish X Factor [video found online], the host pronounced it as Eileen.

It would be like Eileen, but more like ah-ee-leen because the would shound out both the 'a' and the 'i' completely, I think. So if ah-ee-leen is said fast it sounds really similiar to the name Eileen.

Definitely "Eileen". The softer i would be mixed in/absorbed by the 'a'. The traditional 'ah' sound of an a in spanish would sound like a long 'i'.
Or at the very least be more like "ay" leen

I don't know that particular singer but agree that if she's Spanish, I'd assume it's "eye-LEEN". I've met Ailyns and Aylíns who pronounce it the Spanish way, with the "ai/ay" forming a diphthong that sounds like "eye".
