I recently have been monitoring a site called Storm2K which is for people with an interest in tropical cyclones. They have a thread on hurricane names. It was just posted that the World Meteorological Organziation's Hurrincane Committee has "retired" than names Dean, Felix, and Noel from the official lists because of the destructiveness of those hurricanes in 2007. On the 2013 list, they've been replaced by Dorian, Fernand, and Nestor.

Well, at least I think they did a much better job this year than they did after 2005. They actually replaced Katrina and Rita with Katia and Rina, which is hardly a "replacement" at all! :)
