At times, members like to organize gift or card exchanges with other members. These exchanges are not sponsored by nor sanctioned by BabyNames, and members enter them of their own volition and at their own risk.

We don't mind people posting about exchanges, but we do demand that anyone involved with an exchange follow these rules:

Be Careful in Sharing Info
If the exchange organizer is not a member you know and trust, think twice before sharing your personal info, such as email address, street address or phone numbers. BabyNames.com assumes no responsibility for someone using your info in ways that have nothing to do with the exchange.

No Public Shaming
If someone has flaked on an exchange, neither the organizer nor intended recipient nor any other member is allowed to publicly shame the person who flaked. Instead, the exchange provider should provide snow with the names of anyone who received an exchange gift without sending one, and she'll try to make sure that person is not included in further exchanges.

No Minors
No one under the age of 18 is allowed to participate in any exchange promoted by other members on BabyNames, because exchanges entail the release of personal information. Any minor who sends her personal info to an exchange organizer from hereon will be banned from BabyNames.

Let Me See Who's Participating
Before exchange organizers distribute info to participants, they are to send snow the list of participants for vetting, so she can screen the list for minors and flakes.

If you have any questions, please contact snow or a member advisor.
