I'm looking for something unique and having an 'older' sound to it. I need suggestions for both genders. Big brother is Samuel Alexander (not really meeting either requirements listed above, I know).
I really want to find 'the' name and am having a hard time so far. Luckily I have about 33 weeks to come up with it!
Thanks in advance! :)

You know, a friend of mine just named her daughter Edith. First thought, really? Second thought . . . you know, that's actually kind of refreshing and sweet. It fits your criteria, although I don't know that it will suit your taste. I also really like the suggestion of Clara above.
With Samuel Alexander, fortunately, I think almost any name (short of ultra-modern or ultra-trendy) will work, happily. Some suggestions:
Ambrose
Arthur
Eamonn
Emmett
Frederick
Graham
Oscar
Tobias
Beatrice
Cora
Dinah
Frances
Iris
Isadora
Louisa

Arthur was my first thought or Peter. Just met a little Peter and he is darling.
Girl wise maybe Esther, Ivy or Rosa.
Anything much could go with Samuel really.

hmmm. I think Samuel Alexander has an "older" feel, and it's a very handsome combo. And ditto djuna when she said almost anything would go!
some choices:
Abigail Estelle "abby"
Anna Beatrice
Evelyn Isabelle "evie"
I love Theo(dore) for a boy.

I love Samuel's name. I really like Audrey or Clara for you, and for a boy...maybe Jonah or Peter.

I think Henry or Benjamin would go awesome. Out of the two, I'd pick Henry. :)
