So I thought DH suggested Miriam.. but apparently he said it was Miria,

So what do you think of Miria nn Miri?

I told him I thought ppl would hear Maria when it was said, but he seems to disagree.

If it's prn the same as Miriam, with more of the MEER- sound than MUH- as in Maria I personally wouldn't think of Maria. I can see confusion depending on accents, etc. though.

I actually quite like it. It doesn't seem as old-fashioned as Miriam. And I love the nn Miri.

I think it'd get confused with Maria and Miriam a lot, but other than that I think it's cute and goes cool with Demi.

Miria nn Miri is cute. I think Miria might be misheard/mispronounced more frequently than Miriam though.

I love it and it's on my list. Some people would think it was Miriam, but most kids won't have ever met a Miriam, so they'll just accept it.
