How do you pronounce the name Kiran - [like Kieran] KEE-run or KY-run? Would you consider it a "soft" name or not?

Same here. We were going to name Kaia this had she been a boy and that is the Indian pronunciation at least. I don't know--in India it is both a boy and girl name so that might be what you consider soft?

Does that sound weird? I don't mean it in a bad way. I have a student named Bopilo and another named Phong - they don't have an association for me like the name Nick or Kyle might - clean slate.
