Scotland, obviously having an even looser definition of "2008" than England & Wales do, already has up data for the most popular names of 2008. And they give everyone immediate access to the entire list of names given all kids born in Scotland:

One of the things that immediately jumped out at me when looking at the full list is just how many immigrants from Poland there must be in Scotland these days! There's no other explanation for so many kids being born in Scotland with names like Bartosz, Szymon, and Wiktoria. :)
