Prince George is going to be a big brother! The British royal family announced via its website that William and Catherine are expecting their second baby. The announcement came as Catherine is once again suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum — extreme nausea — and is unable to attend previously scheduled events. The announcement apparently comes early on in Catherine’s second pregnancy; some reports have her at less than 12 weeks pregnant. If that’s the case, here’s hoping she feels better once she’s out of the first trimester (unlike last time)!
The odds were in his favor! George and James were heavy favorites leading up to the announcement of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s new baby’s name, but George won out! The official name for the prince is His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge. It seems like quite a lot for the little guy, who weighed in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces at his July 22nd debut. No doubt he’ll grow in to it!
The royal baby watch is over! Prince William and his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, welcomed their first baby today. Despite rumors to the contrary, the couple officially welcomed their son today at 4:24 p.m. Mom and baby are doing well, according to statements, but the couple have yet to reveal the name of their new arrival. Guess we’re not quite done with the royal baby watch!
The royal rumors are swirling again! This time, Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton set them swirling by an almost (?) slip of the tongue. While touring in the town of Grimsby, Middleton was given a teddy bear by a member of the crowd. In response, she was overheard saying, “Thank you, I will take that for my d-…” When an onlooker asked if she’d been about to say “daughter,” Middleton replied that she and Prince William don’t know the sex of their baby and aren’t planning to share their baby’s gender. Fortunately, this is one royal rumor will learn the truth about soon enough!
It looks like it will be a royal summer! A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge confirmed that the couple’s first baby will arrive in July. Kate’s hospitalization last month for extreme morning sickness prompted some royal watchers to wonder if she is carrying twins, but the statement indicates that Kate Middleton and Prince William are looking forward to only one royal arrival. While they haven’t shared whether they’re expecting a son or a daughter, proposed changes to the rules of succession mean that — boy or girl — baby will be a monarch!
After almost a year and a half of constant speculation and swirling rumors, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have officially confirmed the news that just about everyone has been waiting for: they’re expecting! The palace confirmed earlier today that Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are expecting their first. The statement went on to say that Middleton is still in the very early stages of her pregnancy and is, unfortunately, suffering from acute morning sickness. The Duchess was actually admitted to the King Edward VII Hospital for treatment and is expected to stay for a few days.
William and Kate? April Fools! But really, there is a royal baby … just not one that belongs to the oft-scrutinized couple of William and Kate! Peter Phillips (son to Princess Anne) and his wife Autumn have welcomed a second daughter. Isla Elizabeth was born on March 29th weighing 7 ponds, 4 ounces. She joins big sister Savannah (1) as the two great-grandchildren for Queen Elizabeth II.
When you marry into royalty, you can expect that every comment you make will become big news. Such has been the case with Kate Middleton, who married Prince William on April 29th. Almost before the “I Dos” were done, the baby rumors began. And now they’re at it again! People is reporting that during a recent tour of Quebec City, Kate reportedly responded to a well wish on starting her own family with a “Yes, I hope to.” Only time will tell, though, if a baby is in the near future for the newlyweds!
