Talk about a whirlwind weekend! Jay DeMarcus was in Detroit getting ready for a Friday night (July 20th) performance with his Rascal Flatts band mates when he got the call to come home to Nashville — fast! The musician hopped a plane and arrived just in time to help wife Allison welcome their son Dylan Jay to the world. Then DeMarcus flew back to Detroit to finish off the show — still in his scrubs! DeMarcus Tweeted the happy news the next day, saying, “Thanks everyone for all the well wishes!! Dylan Jay was born yesterday at 4:02pm.. He’s gorgeous, just like his dad.” DeMarcus will have a few days to spend with Allison, their newest arrival, and 19-month-old daughter Madeline Leigh before heading back out on tour.
… and the family is all set! So set, in fact, that Allison Alderson Demarcus, wife to Rascal Flatt‘s bassist Jay Demarcus, has already revealed the name of their future son: Dylan Jay Demarcus! Dylan won’t be making his debut until later this summer, but it sounds like Jay, Allison and big sister Madeline (1.5 years) are all ready for his arrival!
Rascal Flatts bassist Jay Demarcus is expanding his family! The musician recently tweeted that he and wife Allison are expecting a little brother or sister for 13-month-old daughter Madeline Leigh. “Alright y’all,” he wrote, “Ali and I have baby number two on the way!! Huge surprise but we’re very excited!!” Baby-to-be is expected to arrive this summer.
The Rascal Flatts band just keeps expanding its family! Earlier this year, guitarist Joe Done Rooney welcomed his second child, and now Jay DeMarcus has welcomed his first! Little Madeline Leigh decided to arrive December 17th, about three weeks before her scheduled due date. Mom Allison and the 6 pounds, 9 ounce baby girl are doing well. The family will have roughly a month to adjust to each other before Rascal Flatts kicks off its 2011 Nothing Like This tour on January 14, 2011.
Rascal Flatts‘ bassist Jay Demarcus and his wife were very excited when they shared their baby news earlier this year. The couple, who’s first child is due in January, told PEOPLE that they’d already started decorating the nursery, even though they didn’t yet know whether they were having a boy or a girl. Now they know they need to add some pink to their color palette! Baby to be Madeline Leigh, who’ll go by Maddy, will no doubt look pretty in pink.
Country musician Jay DeMarcus is used to making music, but he’s looking forward to hearing a different kind of music next January. The Rascal Flatts’ bassist and his wife, Allison, are expecting their first baby!
