Less than a week after her performance at the Grammys, singer M.I.A. delivered a healthy baby boy. The singer wrote on her blog that her baby was born on Wednesday in Los Angeles and is “the most amazing thing ever on this planet.” This is the first child for M.I.A. (real name: Mathangi Arulpragasam) and her fiancé, fellow musician Benjamin Bronfman. Next Sunday, M.I.A. will be back in action, performing at the Oscars. Her song “O Saya” from Slumdog Millionaire, was nominated for Best Song.
Kevin Costner and wife Christine Baumgartner are the proud parents of another bouncing baby boy! Son Hayes Logan was born yesterday in Los Angeles and weighed eight pounds, fifteen ounces. Costner recently said that Hayes is a “great Western name,” which we at BN think matches the style of the couple’s first son, Cayden Wyatt, perfectly. He also has three children with ex-wife Cindy Silva.
Little Harlow Winter Kate now has a new playmate! Her daddy’s Good Charlotte bandmate, Billy Martin, and his wife, Linzi, welcomed their first child together earlier this week. Son Dreavyn Kingslee was born on Monday in Pasadena. The couple, who married last spring, have been together for nine years.
Bristol Palin, the daughter of former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, gave birth on Saturday to a baby boy named Tripp Easton Mitchell. The baby was born in Alaska and weighed seven pounds, seven ounces. A relative confirmed the news, saying “the baby is fine and Bristol is doing well” and “everyone is excited.”
Tripp is the first child for Bristol and her fiance, Levi Johnston. The two plan to wed next year.
