Did you catch all the baby news this week? Check out our weekly wrap-up to make sure you’re up-to-date on who’s expecting, welcoming and naming!

• Despite the rumors swirling to the contrary, Angelina Jolie cleared up her intentions to CNN during a recent visit to earthquake-stricken Haiti. Adopting a Haitian child was not in the plans, although she and Brad are “always open to children.”

• NASCAR drivers have racing to the delivery room these days, and Elliott Sadler is the latest to join the fray. He and wife Amanda welcomed Wyatt Herman Fritts Sadler on February 15th, a few weeks before his scheduled due date.

Albert Pujols, who’s the first baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals, and his wife Deidre evened up their brood this month with the arrival of Ezra on the 5th. The Pujols are also parents to Isabella, Alberto Jr. and Sophia.

• French ice dancer Isabelle Delobel is tackling quite a few challenges these days. In addition to competing in this month’s Winter Olympics (she and partner Olivier Schoenfelder were in 6th place after the Compulsory Dance and have yet to take the ice tonight), she’s also adapting to being a new mom! Delobel and her husband, Ludovic Roux, welcomed Loic on October 1st. Delobel was back on the ice training in earnest on October 26th.

Angelina Jolie Not Adopting a Haitian Baby

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

Despite the speculation that swirled following her recent trip to Haiti, Angelina Jolie has said that adopting from Haiti isn’t in her immediate plans. When asked point-blank if that was the purpose for her visit, Jolie said that while she and partner Brad Pitt are always open to children (the couple are parents to five), adoption was not the purpose of her visit. Maybe Jolie’s decided that five — Maddox (9, adopted from Cambodia), Pax (6, adopted from Vietnam), Zahara (5, adopted from Ethiopia), Shiloh (3), and Knox and Vivienne (18 months) — children younger than ten are enough of a handful!
