Eli Young Band bassist Jon Jones expected to become a dad on Christmas. But baby boy was aiming for another holiday instead! Jones and his wife Sarah welcomed son Hudson Lennon Jones on December 31st — New Year’s Eve. Despite his delayed appearance, Hudson’s birth went smoothly, and the family were home in time to ring in the new year together.
American Idol alum Kris Allen has some big news to start of his new year — some really good, and some not so good! Starting off with the bad: Allen and his wife Katy were involved in a car accident that resulted in a broken arm for Allen. The good news, however, is that — broken arm aside — Allen, Katy and their soon-to-be baby (!) are all OK. Allen confirmed the happy news on Twitter, saying, “Yes I got in a really bad wreck tonight and yes I’m having a lil baby. #gonnabeadaddy.” The singer also assured fans that his Out Alive tour is still on, broken arm or no!
Glee creator Ryan Murphy has something to sing about! Murphy took to Twitter to share the news that son Logan Phineas Miller Murphy has arrived and is doing well. “Thanks to everyone for the kind wishes. Logan is one week old and doing great. Happy new year!” Logan is the first son for Murphy and husband David Miller.
There’s another Kardashian on the way! This time, sister Kim Kardashian is the momma-to-be. The big news broke when Kim’s boyfriend Kanye West asked his Atlantic City crowd to give some love to his “baby mama.” Kardashian, whose divorce from Kris Humphries is still pending, confirmed the news on her web site, saying, “It’s true!! Kanye and I are expecting a baby. We feel so blessed and lucky and wish that in addition to both of our families, his mom and my dad could be here to celebrate this special time with us.” Beyond confirming the happy news, though, the couple haven’t shared any additional details. Guess we’ll have to see what the new year brings!
Matthew McConaughey has another boy on his hands! The actor and his wife Camila Alves welcomed their third baby on December 28th. Livingston Alves McConaughey, who weighed in at 9 pounds and 21 inches, has big brother Levi (4) and big sister Vida (2) to pal around with while dad is working on his latest film, The Dallas Buyer’s Club.
Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill has his own little princess! The musician and his wife Jessie Baylin welcomed their first baby, daughter Violet Marlowe Followill, on December 26th. Followill took to Twitter to share his happy news, saying, “I can proudly announce the birth of my sweet angel Violet Marlowe Followill. My heart has been stollen and it feels so good.” The band isn’t scheduled to begin touring until June, so Followill should have plenty of time to get used to the newest lady in his life.
Rumors have been swirling that Jessica Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson are expanding their family again … and Simpson once again made a holiday reveal! Remember, Simpson shared her big news the first time around by cradling her baby bump all decked out in mummy costume for Halloween. This time around, Christmas was the big holiday and daughter Maxwell Drew was the deliverer of the happy news! Seven-month-old Maxwell appeared in her festive attire and the phrase “Big Sis” in the family’s online announcement.
Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings is thinking pink this Christmas! The beach volleyball star and her husband Casey Jennings discovered that the baby they’re expecting in April is going to be a daughter! Baby girl is the third child for the couple, who are also parents to sons Joseph (3.5) and Sundance (2.5). The family learned the happy news on the Today show by following a family tradition — the doctor penned baby-to-be’s sex on an ornament the family opened while on air.
Christmas came a little early for Eric Ladin and his wife Katy. The couple welcomed their first baby, a son. Maxwell David Ladin arrived on December 21st. “Katy & I are loving all the well wishes,” The Killing actor tweeted. “Thank you!! We are #BEYOND excited!”
St. Louis Rams’ center Scott Wells has quite a Christmas to celebrate this year. In addition to sharing the holidays with his wife Julie and their three children Jackson (9), Lola (6) and Kingston (3), Wells is celebrating with some extra additions. The family adopted three children — Caroline (5), Elijah (3) and R.J. (2) — from Uganda earlier this year. In a recent interview, Wells shared how he’s looking forward to this Christmas, “It’s very important, and it’s very humbling to see the three new ones really celebrate their first big Christmas.”
